Lipstick (2023) pushes past a traditional two eyes, one nose, and one mouth figure to explore the more innovative aspects of collage. This piece plays with the juxtaposition of a simple task, such as putting on lipstick, and the convoluted nature of the hands working to achieve that. The creative possibilities of hands, fingers, and other body parts growing out of one another remains limitless and is one of my current explorations in the studio. There is something utterly fascinating about how quickly the human form becomes grotesque with a couple of alterations in Photoshop.
